This week we are celebrating Literacy Week with some fun activities throughout the school.

Book Fair display in the libraryFirst up, we are hosting Wheeler’s Book Fair in the library. We invite you to come in and have a look at the fantastic selection of books on offer, there are about 300 books to choose from! The library will be open before school (from 8:30 a.m.) and after school (until 3:30 p.m).

Each morning all the staff are involved in our big “Read Around the Classrooms” event. It’s a fun way of sharing our love of reading, with some great new books, and some old favourites brought from home.

And don’t forget, on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. we’ll be holding our Book Character Parade in the hall, when all the children will be able to come to school dressed as one of their favourite book characters.

I can remember how much we all enjoyed the character parade two years ago. My daughter can’t wait to see what the staff come as. Thank you for arranging all this. I agree the books on display for sale are a great selection. What a good way to spend some of the pocket money my daughter has earned.
